McCrometer's
SK Variable Area flowmeter is a simple rotometer-type
device designed to give reliable and economical flow
measurement with full-scale accuracy. It is a long-time
industry standard for a wide range of liquids and gases,
ideal for applications requiring visual flow
measurement.
The
SK Variable Area meter consists of a tapered tube
mounted vertically in the flow stream with its larger
diameter at the top. As fluid or gas flows through the
tube from bottom to top, a float within the tube rises
until the area between it and the tube wall is just
large enough to pass the amount of fluid or gas flowing.
The tube height is therefore a direct measure of the
flow rate through the tube, so flow rate can be
confirmed at a glance.
A
wide range of models, sizes and configurations are
available for applications in the oil and gas, chemical
and petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and water/wastewater
industries. The SK Variable Area meter installs
vertically and is best suited to vertical piping
layouts.
