The MC108 Converter is
a full-feature, multiple-output, user-programmable
converter that features second-generation
micro-electronics for lower power operation and
enhanced capability. The MC108 Converter powers
the Electromagnetic Flow Meter Sensor coils and
processes created voltage, converting that voltage
into flow data. Flow data can be transmitted to
another device and/or displayed on the unit.
Standard
Features of the MC108 Converter Include:
- Compatibility
with Sensor models M500 (remote converter
version only), M1000, M1100, M2200, M2400 and
M2500.
- Available in
either remote or sensor-mounted, compact
version.
- Designed for use
in ambient temperatures ranging from -4° F to
140° F.
- Combined with
the sensor, maximum accuracy error is given by
the following:
- ± 0.25% when
flows are in the user-set 10:1 range of 3
ft./sec. to 36 ft./sec.
- ± 0.50% outside
the 10:1 range, for flows between 1 1/2
ft./sec. and 36 ft./sec.
- Automatic flow
range adjustment providing maximum accuracy
though full available flow range.
- Standard
die-cast aluminum IP67-rated case. Optional
IP68-rated case.
- Two line
16-character LCD display. (Blind version also
available.)
- Easy access,
6-key front panel programming keyboard.
- Four internal
totalizers: Total forward flow, total reverse
flow and partial forward and partial reverse
flows (partial totalizers can be used to
determine net forward and reverse flows).
- Terminals for
internal totalizer resetting.
- Multiple
programming levels:
- Level 0: View
only, no configuration or alarm changes.
- Level 1 (basic
configuration): allows password-protected
changes to non-critical parameters;
- Level 2: allows
password-protected changes to all
configuration parameters and alarms.
- Hardware
malfunction alarms for both Converter and
Sensor.
- Automatic empty
pipe detection and totalizer cut-off.
- Standard, choice
of one output alarm: minimum or maximum flow
rate, empty pipe, reverse flow or
overflow/automatic scale change alarm.
(Multiple output alarms optional.)
- User set low
flow cut-off from 0 to 25% of full scale
value.
- Factory set
self-diagnostic messages.
- 4 - 20 mA output
to a maximum load of 1000 ohms.
- Configurable
choice of 0-2.5 kHz or 0-12.5 kHz digital
output.
- RS-485 interface
for network connections. Optional RS-232
output.
- Configurable
digital pulse output. (24 VDC pulse output
scaled to standard measurement units.)
- Galvanically
insulated outputs.
- 90 to 260 volt,
50/60 Hz power supply, keyboard-selected.
Optional 24 volt AC or DC. (Power consumption
10 watts or less, depending on Sensor size.)
Installation
In the remote versions, no more than 45 feet of
cable may connect Converter and Sensor. Longer
separation distances require TRM 200 Repeater(s).
